Mandatory Reporter of Child Abuse Training

Teacher candidates must complete an online training program to be mandated reporters of child abuse/neglect to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) Child Abuse Hotline.

When to Complete

Must be completed before beginning the first clinical experience.

Complete Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse: Training for Mandated Reporters:
- A pre-training assessment (13 multiple-choice questions)
- 60-90 minutes of self-paced interactive training
- A post-training assessment (13 multiple-choice questions)
- Certificate of Completion
Submit the following together to teacheredcenter@IllinoisState.edu as evidence of completion:
- Certificate of Completion with name.
- Signed Acknowledgement of Mandated Reporter Status (CANTS Form 22). Name must be a signature, not printed.
- Please include Name, UID and Major in email when sending your forms.
